So as I said before I'm a diver and if you're ever interested in
becoming a diver and you live within the New York Area here is
everything you'll need to know. |
First
thing you need to do is get certified.
PADI is one of the more popular dive
certification organizations. I myself am an Advanced Open Water
diver |
 |
The Scuba Connection
NJScuba.com |
Although a
bit of hike for me I've found a home with The Scuba Connection in
Hillsborough, NJ. Good people who will make you a better diver. NYScuba.com
is an "umbrella" type website for all New Jersey Divers |
 |
Once
you've completed your confined water courses you now ready for open
water. Some divers go straight for the tropics but if you want to
avoid the airfare
Dutch Springs is just 70 minutes from NYC by car. |
 |
Once you
have your open water certifications the adventure begins. Key
Largo, Florida has some of the best diving in the world. I try to
get down to Amy Slate's Amory Dive
Resort at least once a year. The Amory Diver is my favorite
Dive boat. Capt. Aside from being a fully functional dive boat it
as a kick ass sound system and
Capt. Bob Bates
puts it to use and somehow doesn't scare away the fish. |
